How do I develop students’ skills?
Can teachers develop skills they are still learning themselves, and where can they make room for them?
The discussion connected the reasons for developing skills with classroom opportunities: games, projects, texts, group work and expeditions. We explored support from colleagues and practitioners, tandem teaching and trying activities in advance. A key question was when students need background knowledge first and when they can learn by exploring their own experience.
